I Can’t Read Sheet Music?

Chat with me asked:

I recently took up and instrument and there weren't too many practices. When I went home, I tried practicing exercises, but every time I needed the next note, I had to stop and look closely at it. So there was a problem. I couldn't tell what each note was until I looked closely. I mean the lines are so close together and the dots are so small! So basically I just memorized the music. But when I got to practice, I forgot it and I couldn't really play. I was embarrassed because I told him I had each one down! And I did! Sort of.

There is nothing wrong with my brain, I am not slow, I do not have dyslexia and I do not need a new glasses prescription. But I can't really read sheet music that fast. I have to look at it before I play and think in my head, B,C,B,E,A,G,F,C,H, etc. I am the only one? Do I just need time? Do I just have to memorize each note and carefully read and try to go along with it? HELP!!
NO!! But its too much to memorize especially for a beginner!! And anyways, I do know each know I just cant read or go along with the music!!

how much can i improve my guitar playing if i practice 6 hrs a day for the next 2 months?

Alex asked:

how much can i improve my guitar playing if i practice 6 hrs a day for the next 2 months??
i started playing electric guitar 5-6 months ago. right now i practice about 2 hrs a day every day. ive been told im improving very fast. within 3 months i could play the first half to sweet child of mine by guns n roses as well as wish you were here (pink floyd), knights of cydonia (muse) (solo included, but this is the only solo i know how to play), stairway to heaven intro, and a few other easier songs. my finger strength and dexterity is aslo very good so far. i do various finger exercises especially for my pinky. the only thing i really need to improve alot on is reading music and stuff :( anyway my question is i want to know how much i could learn/improve if i practice 6 hrs a day for thhe next 2 months??? enough to solo maybe?? i only ask b/c i will be starting college in 2 months and i know once i start school, i wont have nearly as much time to practice. so i want to learn as much as i can now while i still have alot of time to practice
