Piano/keyboard?

crnflkexgrl asked:

I actually have a few questions for this one

Whats the easiest way to teach yourself to use both hands on the keyboard? Because when I start trying to play with both hands one just stops and starts doing what the other is doing. And how do you know what chord to hit when trying ot listen by ear? Like I always hear 'the middle c is where you start', and on my keyboard I cant tell what one is the middle c. I get impatient when I try to play it slow, and I end up going to fast and hitting all the wrong keys. The song I'm trying to play now is Wine Red by The Hush Sound by ear. It's not going to so well, because I can't tell what keys are what and I think my keyboard is out of tune[?]. So what's the easiest way to remember chords, sharps, flats, etc. And how do I read sheet music, and sheet music that I find online?

And if there's anything else I need to know please tell me. Anything other than telling e to practice.

Play in college band as a junior-level entry student with no prior experience?

NYG2983 asked:

Ive been playing music on my own for the past 3 years. I can read sheet music, but i cant sight read well. I play piano and some guitar. I picked up the trumpet for a short amount of time. I liked playing it, but I wanted to learn how to play very well under like 2 months. I learned pretty fast and I was decent at it, but when it got time for me to go to school I found I wasnt able to play in any group during the year ethier in school or in the community, and i couldnt afford to keep paying renting. I know if I have tim/means I can learn to play an instrument well. i am a very self-taught person. I know I need help however when it comes to sheet music etc. Anyway, I really want to play music in college. Im a junior, I have 3 months till its up, than senior year, two years community college, and hopefully a university after that. I have never been in marching band, but id like to be. Do you think by three or so years I could make it to have a minor in music/play in band at a university?
