I'm bored of being bored asked:

I have peen playing the violin for 5 years and I have never learned to read music. I go more on sound, If I hear a song even once, I can play it the same, so I never bothered learning how to read music. but I am joining an orchestra! so now I need to learn how to read it, but I don't know how to? what way should I learn it? give tips! thanks!
I already play the piano ... and the tin whistle, and the harp and the mandolin and the banjo, but the violin is my favourite.

What is the difference between a professional pianist and someone who is just learning to play the piano?

Santa-Have u been good or bad?? asked:

I said that my new years resolution would be to learn how to read music and play the piano, well in the past I mastered a lot of songs that I forgot how to play them because my lazy self stopped practicing the piano well should I say I have one of those electric keyboards with a key lighting system on it,when you press any key it lights up till u release it,anyway,I can sit down and look at sheet music and I will have no idea of how to play it,well I am a high school graduate and I had a class called mixed chorus and the teacher could play any song on the grand piano, plus he was very very good at playing real fast and making no mistakes,he could sit down at the piano and look at sheet music and he could start playing beautiful songs,he was a professional, when I asked him about how did he learn to play the piano he said that he practiced a lot and he went to college for 4 years,I wanna teach myself how to learn the notes and things, in the past I have
printed a lot of things from the Internet telling me the names of the notes and what they look like and things and so on and so on,well I still have what I printed up and I find it to be very helpful,
I wanna know should I just give up practicing piano or should I keep practicing and reading about it,I know music is my gift and God wants me to pranctice more and more.

I need a good song writer?

Dondre asked:

I am a 14 year old boy who has a Baritone/Counter-tenor range. I love singing and I know I am pretty good, I am also a songwriter but I don't want to write all the time so I need a good songwriter who is willing to write songs about breaking up, love, sex, betrayal, and anything slow like ballads and slow to mid tempo r&b songs. I need someone who is willing to work by email (so leave your email) and who will not share songs they wrote for me with other people, and I need someone who won't mind writing a song about an idea I came up with (if not thats okay we can work something out). I have influences from people like Stevie wonder, Sinatra, Elvis, Nat king cole, Luther Vandross, Michael Jackson, Prince, Al Green and little Richard. I am not a hard person to work with so don't worry about that. I play piano, I'm learning guitar and harmonica. I cannot read music at the time so just include how slow or fast the song is and i'll be good to go. if you don't mind include that I would have to pay for songs that you write for me (remember I am 14 and I don't have a regular job). Thank you.
That's great but I would have to wait until around next month because I don't have any recording software or microphone which I will be getting next month for my birthday.
