I want to start learning piano, sheet music?
I have really good finger dexterity/hand eye coordination/reflexes from playing rhythm games over the years, so my friend (who's been playing piano for years) suggested that I try piano.
I'll have plenty of free time soon, so I hope 17 isn't too late of an age to start.
My main questions are:
How long would it take to play at this level?
Is reading sheet music necessary for a beginner? I wouldn't be against it, but it just seems really complicated.
And finally, is it recommended to take lessons? I'd prefer to just learn on my own free time, but I want to learn the fastest way possible.

How do you read piano music?
I'm very good at piano, but I never actually learned how to read piano music. I've been playing violin for five years, so I know how to read music for the violin. I know the difference between half steps and whole steps, etc., but need a little guidance. I'm a fast learner, and have always wanted to read piano music, so help?

Do Cordless Headphones Cut The Wire?
Are you overwhelmed by the flood of normal and wireless headphones (http://www.amphony.com/products/digital-wireless-headphones.htm)? You never heard of the terms open and closed headphones or dynamic and static transducers? This overview will help you select the best model.
Headphones are available in a lot of distinct styles. In regard to design, the smallest type headphones are in-ear headphones which are plugged into the ear, some of these have a bracket that wraps around the ear. These type headphones can without problems be put in a pocket. They are frequently bundled with iPods or MP3 players. Another type of headphones which are larger than in-ear headphones sit on the ear and come with an elastic frame which either sits on the head or wraps around the neck. These two types of headphones are generally the least expensive and you should consider them if you are on a budget. Some in-ear models are particularly designed to absorb exterior noise.
Medium-end headphones are an option if you are able to spend a little more and offer better sound quality. The earpieces have ear cushions to improve the wearing comfort. These ear cushions are either placed on your ear or around your ear. The second design removes the pressure on the ears and is preferred by a lot of people. Then you will have to make a decision whether you want to go with an open design where the audio can penetrate from the transducer to the outside or a closed design. An open design is perceived by some people to have a light sound quality. A closed design will stop the audio from disturbing bystanders. A closed design also helps block out external noise.
Most of today's headphones are so-called dynamic headphones. Dynamic refers to the kind of transducer that is used. Another sort are static headphones. Static headphones are quite costly and require special headphone amplifiers.
If you favor liberty of movement then you should take a look at wireless headphones. Wireless headphones eliminate the cord. This means that you have full liberty of movement which is key if your audio source is not mobile. One kind of wireless headphones are Bluetooth headphones. These headphones can be used with mobile phones and other Bluetooth-enabled products. The operating range is usually only 30 ft or less. Bluetooth headphones do typically not offer audiophile sound quality.
Other cordless headphones frequently work at 900 MHz and utilize FM broadcast. These headphones are the least expensive wireless alternative. More advanced digital wireless headphones work at 2.4 GHz or 5.8 GHz. The major drawback of FM headphones is a noticeable hissing, audio distortion and fairly high susceptibility to interference which I caused by the transmission.
Digital product versions will encode the sound into data before transmission which makes these models the best choice in regard to sound quality and robustness against interference. A number of digital wireless headphones work at the less crowded 5.8 GHz frequency band. This band offers less competition from other wireless devices compared to the 2.4 GHz band.
