Can I teach myself to read music?
B X asked:
Right now I play guitar but can only read tabs. I'd like to learn to read music for guitar, and maybe so I can play some other instruments. The thing is I cannot read any music at all- and as for guitar I'm a beginner and self teaching. To learn to read music, should I just get some lessons, or is it possible to teach myself with relative ease?

How to Read Music
If you go to a music store, they usually have DVDs, CDs, and a few instruction booklets that teach you how to do it all yourself. Though, if you think you might have an easier time learning with a tutor, you can go to some music stores and ask them about lessons, the days and times instructors are available, and prices per lesson.

Start with a classic learner’s workbook like “You Can Read Music”:
