  1. Learn How to Read Music Notes

Learn to play the piano. It is a great way. Because there is trouble clef and bass clef so whichever instrument you decide to play (if you don’t want to stick with piano) you know both clefs. OH i didn’t see that you want to play guitar. If you buy a beginner guitar book in a music store, and you go to the back of the book, it should have the fingerings for the guitar and the notes.

  2. Learning How to Read Music Notes

2 ways: Practice your butt off learning to sight read or use tablature.
Tab is usually written out under the usual musical staff except its 6 lines instead of the musical 5 lines, which each line in tab representing a string of the guitar (4 lines in the case of bass tab).
On the line is usually a number. That number represents the fret space on that string where you should be holding it down.
Even though this will allow you to figure out more easily how to finger a chord, you still need to learn a little about music in order to figure out the rhythmic displacement.
And don’t forget to work with a metronome. That’ll help with figuring things out & playing in time.

    Good luck!!

  3. How to Read Music Hub

I think the use of flash cards help.
Your music store should carry them.
You may even find them on the net, that you can print off.

  4. How to Read Music

I discourage the use of tablature as an option to learn to read music. Instead, pick up a beginner guitar manual at your music store. Inside should be theory exercises that would start you off gradually, string by string and simple notation. One such manual is Hal Leonard’s Beginning Guitar Method Book One.

These are the basics so to expand your knowledge pick up a book of musical symbols.

Another way to learn the rudiments of reading music is to write out notation for one of your creations. This will require additional research to learn how to place upon manuscript paper your song.

While you’re at it, learn the different key signatures by memory and how to determine the major and minor keys.

End note: Guitar music is written in the treble clef–the G clef–and should bring no additional trouble to you while the actual pitch of guitar notes is sounded in the bass clef–the F clef.
