Learning How to Read Music Notes
well, most piano sheet music does not tell you the notes they are on the staff and you must identify them yourself. i would say, if the only thing you do, learn the notes on the staff (the 5 lines and 4 spaces on sheet music.. look it up and you’ll see) and when you get a song you want to play, just look at each step by step and write them down on a seperate sheet. hope this helped!

Learn Music Reading Lessons
If you want to really play the piano, just memorizing the keys isn’t enough. If you’re in the your 20s, you’re not old. You still have time to learn.
If you really want to play the piano without learning the keys, there are some keyboards which show you how to play the piano without knowing the keys. So even if you get that keyboard, you might as well learn how to read notes and etc…
Good Luck!

Music Theory for Beginners
I would recomend just learning the notes. It actually isn’t that bad, and it comes naturally after a while. Like other said, most piano music, in fact none that I have seen, actually has the notes marked. With piano, you have to learn two sets of notes, (“right hand” and “left hand”, these are the two “clefs”). I started out with a little card with the music staff (what music is written on) with all the notes written on it, (theres only 7…) and pretty soon it comes easily, and you don’t even think of it.
Learning without the theory of music will be very difficult. I would recomend, like I said, learn the notes and keys, and buy a few beginner books. This may seem embarassing at 20′s, but it helps. Buy a book that shows you where to place your hands on the proper keys, it will also have good practices for learning which key is which letter-name note.
Hope this helps.

how to read music
you should be able to pick simple tunes and put a few chords with them (with practice) without knowing how to read music. knowing the names of the keys might help you find your ground though, it will stop seeming so alien. good luck!
