How do I read sheet music for drums?

Soul Boogers asked:

I can read tabs, but I wanna learn how to read actual music for it. I can read Treble Clef, bass Clef, Alto Clef, and Tenor Clef, so if you want, you can find some way to relate it to those.

  1. How to Read Music

Unfortunately I don’t read regular music so I have no idea what clef and all that stuff means. Reading drum music is pretty basic though. On the horizontal plane it is pretty much the same as any other music, 1/4 notes, 1/8 notes, etc. The real difference is on the vertical plane. In other music each line or space would represent a note, B, C#, etc. In drum music the lines and spaces represent a particular drum or cymbal.
