Are you familiar with tablature? It’s a form of notation (developed for classical guitar, but useful for any style) that indicates which fret on which string to use. Reading standard notation is good, but adding tab (tablature) is a good thing to me. You can find tabs for a lot of songs with Google. You should find several tab search engines this way.

how to read music
Write the notes underneath. I don’t play guitar but i hope this helps. You should memorize the position the fingers go with the corresponding music note. This way it might be easier ^_^
Good luck with the guitar

i learned guitar without sheet music and used tab instead. its alright, but you learn songs based on just where to put your fingers than the actual notes. I think in the long run, sheet music will help you become a better player.

keep learning to read music. its good for you and will help u develop as a musician.
if there’s as song you would like to play and can’t find sheet music for it, then using tabs is fine too. just keep that mind set of music reading there.
good luck
