How to read music?
srahussler asked:
How difficult is it to read music? Because I have an acoustic guitar and I really wanna know how to play it. And if you have any web sites that would teach me, they would be very helpful! Thank you if you respond!

Learn How to Read Music
Reading music is somewhat difficult… However, for guitar… finding and reading tablature is much easier. Start with that, it’s very easy… like playing by numbers!
Here is a good site to get started…
Good Luck… and remember Practice Practice Practice, and don’t give up!

It just takes time. But if you are just starting and want to play right away, look in to guitar tabs (tablature). Its sheet music written by people other than the original artists (usually), it’s the writer’s interpretation, so it’s free.
Also, it is oriented the same as guitar strings and frets, so you can fairly easily determine which note you should be playing. The down fall is, you need to know the melody of the song you are trying to play. So try first with songs you know.
Search on “Guitar tabs”, there are a plethora of sites out there.
You shouldn’t have to pay for tabs.
If you want to still learn to read music, tabs will help to familiarize yourself with the guitar first.
Good Luck, and have fun.
