How to Read Music Fast All You Need to Learn How to Read Music Fast and Easy

I want to learn piano but I don’t know how to read music or play any other instruments?

♥ ツ☮ asked:

How should I go about this?
I am not expecting to be pro right away... I just want to know what you all think about a 20 year old just deciding to play piano and what some good starter tips are :)

Thanks! (PS I have step #1 down since I have a keyboard already lol)

  1. Sight Reading Music

Personally, I’d get an introductory book for piano.
I learned violin first, for a good 5 years, and I’m no pro at piano, but I self-taught myself the basic techniques.

Best helper, in my opinion, is to try the Dummy books.
“Piano for Dummies” is a great helper! It comes with a cd with all the music on recording to go along with all the music listed and written out in the book.

  2. Learning How to Read Music Notes

I have a teacher, but I’m using the Alfred Piano Book for Adults, and I love it!!! It also has a lot of theory built in, so you will be able to learn to read music as you learn. In addition, it has a C.D., so you can listen to the tracks before you start playing them so you know what it’s supposed to sound like. I would really recommend it. :)
